Walgreen's: St. Paul and Fayette
Baltimore, MD
Contract: $1,800,000
Riparius Construction mobilized for the constrution of the new Walgreen's store in Baltimore, Maryland on February 14, 2000. The project consisted of approximately 11,000 square feet of new retail store space. The store included a new general sales area, renovated entrance for Walgreen's and existing building tenants, pharmacy, photo center, employee training room, men's and women's restrooms and a general stock area. Because this Walgreen's store is located in a former historical bank building -- The Chicago Title Building -- the project team faced several challenges that are not typical to a new, free-standing phramacy. The project included selective demolition, mechanical and electrical demolition and replacement, asbestos abatement, concrete placement in the front lobby, masonry demolition at the rear wall, metal framing in the front lobby and extensive demolition in the existing bank area.
