The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region is a private, non-profit local chapter of The Arc of Maryland. It has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for adults and children with developmental disabilities and their families in Harford and Cecil Counties for over 50 years. Riparius Construction was selected to lead the Design/Build team for the Arc's 15,000 sq. ft. addition to their existing facility, and to renovate the existing 8,500 sq. ft. facility. The scope of work included, but was not limited to: construction of a new structural steel frame, masonry and E.I.F.S. (exterior insulation finishing systems), a new hydraulic elevator, new mechanical and electrical system, complete wet and dry sprinkler systems, new aluminum entrance and windows, carpet, new interior framing and gypsum wallboard. The new facility will house new offices, fully accessible restrooms, library, nursing and clinical services, meeting rooms for parents, computer training center, and a workforce and employee training center. The scope of work also included the complete renovation of the existing 8,500 sq. ft. facility with all major systems.
